Copyright Policy

Coyne College is committed to complying with United States copyright law. Unauthorized distribution of copyrighted material, including unauthorized peer-to-peer file sharing, is a violation of these laws. Per the US Copyright Act of 1976, violation can give rise to civil and criminal liability and penalties. Copyright infringement may result in statutory damages ranging from $30,000 to $150,000. In addition to civil and criminal penalties and damages, the College will take disciplinary action as outlined a) for students, in the Coyne College Student Guide, b) for Faculty, in the Coyne College Instructor Handbook, and c) for staff, in the Coyne College Employee Handbook.
